Railton electrical info request...
We have a 1937 Railton Stratton model with 12 volt. We would like to improve the tail lamps and so have already installed some beautiful LED lamps but find that they won't function with a car having Positive ground. My car electrician hesitates to reverse the polarity to a Negative ground since many of the parts are British. Is there a safe way in which to come up with a Negative ground system on a Railton? Any help will be much appreciated.

Most of the electricals on your 12V Railton, ie instruments, starter, overdrive if you have one, aren't fussed whether they are +ve or -ve earth. Make sure your ignition coil is hooked up the right way round.
I don't know if you need a different generator for changing polarity, but some one here will know about that.0 -
I have already sent Russ the details, but others need to be aware that you cannot run the original Auto-lite voltage rgulators negative ground, as they have dis-similar points in the voltage coil points, and these will burn out.

I'm thinking it's simpler to find the correct polarity LEDs.0

Or change to halogen bulbs, which don't care.0
