drag racing the PaceMaker today...

Guys,

I took the 50 PaceRacer to Brown County Dragway in preparation for the Studebaker Driver's club orphan drag race on the 29th of May. Got some seat time in and made it to the semi-finals before I messed it up.

Forgot to turn on the electric shifter solenoid. She didn't run the number but still its into the high 9.90's now. Got to give those Studebaker guys a harder race this year!

I have one more issue with a stumble right as I leave the starting line. just about got it fixed but its still present. acts like its not getting enough fuel but not enough to cause a backfire when going from 2000 rpm on the line to full throttle. May change the power piston springs to a lighter setting so when the vacuum drops and goes to boost they are down and move up, and making the mixture richer. tried the accelerator in all three holes and it works the best in the middle.

May 29th is coming up fast and those in Indiana and surrounding area that are going be ready for some good racing!

    PaceRacer50, I follow all your race related threads with interest. I drag raced for many years, just never in a Hudson. It would be great if you could have someone take videos on the 29th. If you want, I'll post them on youtube for you. Can't post any that are longer than 10 minutes.

    the Studebaker guy that has organized this usually puts up video every year. there are some on YouTube now that show my Hudson running there.

    thanks for the kind words. I will keep everybody updated how it goes... got a few un-expected tricks still to try out next sunday and get her down into the mid 9.40's......

    for some reason I can't post a direct link to it but it may be my browser I am using.

    PLEASE Excuse the BOG when I left the starting line. think I figured it out today and will take it for test and tune tuesday night at ORP in Clearmont, Indiana.

    today the bog was just a mild hesitation right when I would leave the line.

    I searched orphan car drag race and found several videos to watch. Your car was in at least one of the videos and you raced larry kennedy. Pretty cool stuff. thanks.

    nice to see you getting her out there, when i took mine for a run was doing something similar and found it to be the cam on the excellarator pump

    I didnt pull any like your time well done
