Bulfinch's is excellent, not as well read as Hamilton but I enjoy the works very much. I have been rereading some since this post. Nice way to enjoy the local rain, wind, snow storms we are having...

I've never seen the flying um', "man lady"?, in 1/2 size. Does anyone have a picture of that? I'd like to have one of those for my rat rod.:)

Franklin Mint made a 2 inch high version of the 28 Essex Flying (wo)man. It's a great paper weight on my desk. I could post a photo togther with a real original one if you're interested!!

There never was a flying man mascot in 1929. It was originally on the '28 models only, but various guys like them, and as they screw right on to the '29 radiator, they have fitted them. There were two radiator caps available for the '29 the 12-sided standard version, and a heavier rounded edge type with rose pattern on the edge. I have molds to get both these made. Can post pics to anyone interested. i also have the mold for the '28 Essex cap.

thanks for the info now that i know what to look for by the right name let the search begin

Evan Eustace HETrongoteapanelbeaters@inspire.net.nz (drop the HET) here in New Zealand has a mould for casting the 28 Hudson mascot in bronze & then they can be either nickle or chrome plated. They are much less costly than the price quoted for the stainless steel repro.

You need to drop the leading HET (there to fox the spammers)in the email address & you will then have Evan's email address. This is not a website (URL)

Last time I spoke to him, he had a couple of mascots straight out of the mould. They will need cleaning up & plating. I'm sure the cost will reflect the amount of your labor you put in or he can do it all & it will cost accordingly.

    Remember that NZ$1.00 = US$0.70 approx
