There's a great story comparing Richard Palmer's beautiful '41 to a '41 Buick in the July issue. :D:D

    Writer said the Hudson was a better driving car. He made some mistakes like saying that the leather should have been cloth. As we all know leather was an option. Good piece.

    It was a balanced article, and Hudson has pride of place on the cover. The only thing I didn't like was the author saying that the Hudson needed constant steering correction. Must be this car...my '40 steers straight down the road and you can steer it with one finger at 55 mph. I think it's one of the car's best features...:cool:

    That Buick looks kind of silly next to the Hudson IMHO :)

    I was wondering the same thing on that one.



    Walt is right, they just like the GM stuff, by default. All in all, even though the author said the Hudson rode and handled better, didn't rattle and squeak, etc., he STILL said he leaned toward the Buick. He was also comparing a dual carb set up on the Buick with a brand new, not even broken in single carb engine in the Hudson. Oh, and he pointed out that the Hudson was 400 pounds lighter, and even though it looked bigger than the Buick, was about the same size!



    What's not to like about the Hudson? In my mind there was NO comparison!

    They need to have Patrick Foster do those comparisons.

    A little off-topic on my part, but that's an excellent point. Being a rag-top man, it has been my experience that convertibles in general, especially older ones, rattle and squeak like a bucket of bolts riding in the trunk . . . except HUDSONS! when they are set-up correctly!! If you have a Hudson convertible that rattles, something is put together improperly, because HMCC's ragtops are very solid, sound cars. Haven't driven a Duesy convertible, but every other brand of 'vert I have driven, was a "turn up the volume" type of ride.
