28 Hudson Sedan for Sale

Stopped by my neighbor's home a few minutes ago and worked my way into the "car lot" by the side of his home. He bought a nice 26 Essex last September and told his wife he was going to sell off three of his other builders. One of those is a 28 Hudson sedan. Nothing fancy about it. It is disassembled and I told him before he put it up for sale it needed to be a rolling chasis. It is complete with a few parts here and there and does not have any rust with it. Some of the original paint is there and looks quite nice. He knows it will not bring much so I thought I would see if anyone has enough of an interest that I would go and take some photos. Let me know....

Thanks for posting this info. I am trying to complete a 1928 Hudson sedan and would be very much interested in any pictures and/or other info. I will be heading to ID and passing through UT soon. Please forward any info or photo's to me at billiardrules@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance.... Bruce Baker, Solon, IA 52333 - 319-624-70440

He has a 26 Dodge Sedan, Two Model A Sedans and a Triumph spitfire. No step downs....0 -
Yep, we sure do still have it. Still in project mode.
We've got the 'survivor' 28 Model O and the 29 Model L we can drive when we need to feel Hudsonly0 -
that's great!0

Just a couple photos of the car: The body has its paint but the fenders and hood were sanded to metal and are covered with rust. The car is 80 percent complete. I did not post photos of everything because it takes too long. The engine was running and he took it out of the car and placed it and the tranny inside. another fine car started, disassembled and left.... BTW he is looking for about 2K because of his costs and investment in the good engine. Any parts that are Hudson (extra fenders, rims etc.) go with the car.0

Spencer.
After having another look it appears the chassis and runing gear are 28 ESSEX but the body appears to be 29.Two things to look at 28 has 1 narrow bead along the top of the doors, 29 has 1 narrow and 1 wide as in the photo.
The hole near the park light bracket is 29,this is for the wire to the park light, on 28 this hole isn't there the wire feeds up through the park light bracket.
Correct me if I am wrong.

I think that there must be some sort of puzzle here so I will make it a bit less of a problem. The body and frame are from the 29 Hudson (Have a title that says that). The front end running gear and rear end that I have the photos from are from a different car (one that is not for sale), but since he is building a Resto-Rod from the 28 Essex (there is a title for the Essex) he is letting the front end, rims and rearend go with the 29. He has two sets of fenders front and rear. One front fender would be tough to save. Two of the other front fenders have had the inner seam welded. Only saw rear bumpers and no gas tank. Did not see gages. I do not think it will sell at 2K. Not questioning that he has that much in the car, it is just a lot of money for a parts car. Even with a "So-So" running engine.0

Spencer is right, the chassis is 1928 Essex, and the body is 1929 Essex. There are no Hudson components there.0
