I am headed up early in the morning to get the 53 Super Wasp coupe and trailer it back home. I sure hope it is as solid as the owner says it is!

Make sure you put up a few pics of it when you get it home.

Yes, that is the car. I have been in communication with the owner for several weeks. Here is what I found--

Car is very solid, frame rails in great shape, will need drivers side front floor pan, maybe passenger sider front as well. Paint looks to be original. Some dents on car from moving it around I believe. All trim appears to be on. Missing drivers door lock on door. Head is off of engine and two head bolts broken and in block. :(

I will post pictures later today.

    Update

Floor pans better than I thought--

    Ha!

Well, here is the story. My first two cars were Hudson's, a 51 Commodore sedan and a 49 club coupe with 55 hornet engine and Hydromatic. My dad and I pulled the Hydromatic out and put a 3 speed with od in with a floor shifter from a Checker cab. I put a switch on the shifter column to engage the OD in or out. My all time favorite car. I put a lot of miles on it going from the AFB in Tampa up to north Fla where I grew up.

I had to sell the Hudson's I had at the time to finish up a home my wife and I were building and still live in today. My family owned both Hudson's and Studebakers and I got into Studebakers as I had an uncle that drove and raced them and encouraged me to restore a Champ pu he owned. Having Dr. Cade's Studebakers nearby was a factor as well. Anyway, I love both makes but Hudson own's my heart!
