A Hudson that got away

A couple of weeks ago my barber told me about a Hudson in the neighborhood. I went to look at it and see if the owner was a HET member. The 1946 Hudson looked like it would be a good driver. It appeared to be in good original condition with no damage. There was no answer at the door. Tonight I saw the same car listed on the Ventura craigslist but it was located just a few blocks from me in Burbank for $2200. I called about it and sadly it was already sold. Oh, if it only it had had a forsale sign when I saw the car, or being more persistant in getting aquainted with the owner. Sigh, sigh, Lee

It wasn't meant to be, but don't worry I have a friend who says...

    There... is... another... Hudson...

I have heard of people who like a make so much that they start with say a chassis rail, and go from there. I dont have any chassis but I have a front clip if you are interested. LOL. Regards, Barry
  • Lee,

If it makes you feel any better, I called on that car yesterday morning. The ad said $2,200 but he wanted $2,500. Ad said "drive it home" but when asked, he said it didn't run. He also said it was a "9 out 10". I'm sure it was an OK deal but misrepresented.

Barry, thanks for the offer but Penfield is a few to many miles away to pick up parts.

Neils, the car I wanted very much was the black and red hudson you bought. Russel was kind enought to arange to hold it for me until I could gather up the money. I was going to make a great adventure with it. I planned to fly out and drive it home. Russel was even going to pick me up at the airport and take me to the car. I could not come up with the money so I told him to let it go to anyone interested. I also, contacted the So Cal and CIC chapters about it. I was hopeing someone in Calf. would buy it. I'm glad it was you that bought it. I hope to see it someday soon.

    Have a good day, Lee
