Need wood steering wheel horn button parts

This is the curly maple steering wheel I made for my '37----it was said to have come from a '38 ?? The button fits perfect but have no idea what it is from ?? What I need is the parts that hold it in . If I can't find them can anyone send some good pics of theirs and I'll take a stab at making them . Positive I.D. the wheel and button to help the search for me ? ---THANKS , BUD

    Wow! That looks like some really nice woodwork. Looks terrific. How did you make the joints on the steering wheel?

    I can't help with the horn button. But WOW! That steering wheel looks fantastic! Love the curley maple.:)

    Thanks guys, I do a lot with wood , Make violins , cabinets, furniture , you name it, so no big trick for me . It's made of 8 peices, lay out 4 like picture frame for top and bottom and spot glue them down. GOt to do it so ends overlap when you put the 2 halves on the wheel . Got to make an adjustable jig for a trim router to cut a groove for the rim , some hand work at the spoke area . After you glue it on the wheel { I filled in the slot around the rim with JB Weld to take up the space and act as glue }.you shape the thing by hand so it is round .--- B.M. with your skills I'm sure you could handle it if you just sit back and think it out . Maybe I should post some pics of the jig, it's not hard to make . I don't want to make any wheels to sell , got too many projects I've dreamed up and that dissease on my posts . NOW HELP ME FIND SOME PARTS TO COPY !!! --- Thanks BUD ----OH YEAH, you won't find that wood in the wood pile, it'll cost ya a few bucks , has to be dried and aged so it don't shrink after you do all that work .

    That is fantastic work. It really looks great. There is a local fellow (Utah) that does custom banjo wheels. He has had a few at a booth at local car shows and seems to sell them quite well. They are not cheap. He likes to refer to them as a work of art and he can do anything you want or dream up. I showed him a photo of a stock Hudson banjo and he said it would be no problem.     Comeing from Brownie who I know has a keen eye and does nothing but the best to his cars I have to consider that to be the ultimate complement, thank you Brownie !! Maybe the guy in Utah will do some for those that like nice wood , I'm tied up on time doing things for myself , can't afford to hire things out . BUT !!! Come on guys I really do need some help IDing the wheel and button and need the parts mentioned . If no parts out there for sale some pics and diagrams from someone who has them would get me on track to make them . From the back side it appears to maybe be a hub about 2 inches I.D. with a tension wire around the diameter of it with 3 spots to secure it , a spring to push up on it and the usual copper/brass contact parts which may be the hub .     That horn button looks a little too big for that wheel, could it be a clock delete panel and not a horn button?

    It's a horn button . If you look at the close up pic the outer ring that's a different shade/color is the steering wheel hub , it fits the hub perfectly . It has 4 stainless steel rings, one looks different because of the way the light hits it takeing a pic . The pic below it is the back side of the horn button . That center portion protrudes about 3/4 of an inch . BUD

    Hate to bump this back , still need help on this . Can anyone ID the front/back of the button to know what to look for on the parts ? Thanks , BUD
