Am I correct in assuming that the only thing 'Hudson' about this car was the small name badge on the front?

Yep, the badge is it. Most of the "Hashs" were based on the larger Nashs, and had a lot more Hudson badging- like the R on the gas cap would be an H, different wheel covers, Hudson model names (Hornet, Wasp), etc. This looks like the last gasp for the Hudson name at AMC.0
