flushing terraplane cooling system
to follow on from my last post on a new thread.Any tips on totally flushing the soluble oil, rusty flakes and soup stock(i tell you, thats what it looks like!)out of my terraplane.i plant to fit new hoses, thermostat and a TEFBA radiator filter, but want to get rid of corrosion build up and the oily remains from the cooling system and hopefully not clog my radiator any further. All info gratefully recieved by a novice stumbling round in the dark.

Hey SKip,
When I did mine I took the side water jacket off (it was rusted and needed a newbaffle plate for the inside made anyway) and took out the t-stat and got in there with a hose from the hot water heater and washed it out good. Did the same with the radiator as well.
I saw another suggestion on a post about when you refill and restart to put piece of womens nylon over the outlet before you put the hose on to trap any other pieces before they get to the radiator.
I am gonna try that one myself here soon.
Good luck,
Jeff0
