Wow, Dave! Have you all ready given us the story on this one, and I missed it? Where'd she come from? What parts specifically are you looking for? Or is that just parts for '36's in general?

Regardless, should be done in about two weeks, right?:D

    Russell,

I bought it from another club member, who has owned it for 16 years. I have been bugging him about buying it ever since I knew he had it. This year at Doc's Meet, he asked me if I was still interested. He purchased it in Waterbury CN on lead from Merritt Marks.

It was lot worse. Carl Undercoffer has over 2000 hours work into it. He removed it from frame, did brakes and rebuilt all of the wood in rear section and started sheet metal work on rear.

I won't know what all I need until we start putting it back together. Probably 3 weeks, LOL. Realistically, about 2 years. We are shooting on having it done for National in 2012.

Very cool, Dave. Are you having to fabricate new sheetmetal for the rear? Great project. Just think, you'll have something to haul all the parts you find at the 2012 Nat'l. back home!:D
  • Gonna give Dave a hand here, Like to see this one done and I think Dave is a "GIT'ER DONE" guy. I've got a nice truck steering wheel for him , it's from a 37 so he'll be needing a shaft with splines to fit his 36 gear box or a complete 37 unit .
Dave , I've also got a couple heaters from that era , one came out of my 37 , a couple of oil bath air cleaners , a radiator fan , some radio controls and a radio , not sure what year but from about that period , will have to have some help to I.D. them . Maybe some other odds and ends . BUD

Dave, have you inspected the recently restored one at the Hostetler Museum?

    Park,

My first call to them 2 weeks ago said it wasn't there, then someone else told me a roof colapsed on it, but that isn't true. I talked with J.R. Hostetler and he told me it is in museum in restored condition. He said his father has not told him of any plans to move it in near future. I am planning on stopping on way to Central regional to take pictures.:)
