Sorry I haven't been on here for quite a while and haven't responded to some messages I noticed.



I guess now I don't have any Hudson engine parts for sale. I would like to thank 37 Terreplane for helping me get my Hudson 8 running and sounding great and wouldn't take but very little in return. I won't give his real name cause he might come up and whip me. Anyway, he is a great guy and great friend. He is a good example that there are still some good people out there. I really appreciate your help man.

    Kind words humbly acknowledged Buck . thank you . To all our friends , the old car thing has guys from all walks of life , many of us love our cars as much as guys like Jay Leno , but just could not have them without some trade off help from others . Buck will be there when/if I need him . I've had a few breaks from guys in the club and on the forum , and appreciate them much , as said , without them my 37 Terraplane would be long gone, only a dream , a memory of the one I had as a kid in 1952 . ---- BUD

    Funny thing, take one to a car show and people either learned to drive on one or never heard of it.

    37 Terraplane took me a ride in his and I was impressed. Had quit a bit of power for such a small engine.

    Thought that was pretty funny. Terriblepain. I have called my 51 lots more than that and then some.

    This is the engine I had so much trouble with because of poor machine shop work . If it could be screwed up they did it . And if I told what all I did to salvage it Ted would ban me from the forum !! Yes it is surprising what it does , especially with the mess it was in . Does have a little piston slap at higher rpm's , does fine up to around 60 mph . The bad part , it may last for ever , may not , got about 500 miles on it now . I know what has been done to it and therefore do not trust it , so I'm gathering up parts for a different engine , this one has been bored all it can stand . ED WOOD gave me a good deal on some new .030 over pistons , add ED to your GOOD GUYS list , thanks ED . Next is find a rebuildable engine .030 over or less close enough to Salem In. and priced where I can afford to buy it . Any leads appreciated . One last comment , anyone thinks a Hudson engine isn't tough needs to know what this one has been thru and survived !!
