Petronix coil leaking oil
When I purchased my Petronix electronic ignition for the 48, I purchased the Flame thrower coil also. Now that I finally got the car running, I have noticed that a thin oil is dripping from the coil when the car is cranked and ran for a while. Which begs the question, should I have installed it with the coil wire up instead of pointing down as was the original or have I purchased a bad coil?

It shouldn't leak in any position! I think you need to contact Petronics and get a replacement.0

I recently sent back a new Mallory coil that was leaking. I think all of them are made in China now.0
