hey all...

I haven't been on the board for some time. I thought I would stop and say hi to everyone. I know to the delight of some of you, that is a good thing. Anyway, to the rest of you, sorry to be a stranger. Don't worry, this is but a brief visit, I won't be staying long. My previous recent visit was 2/18/10, and I imagine it will be a similar measure of time before I stop by again.

I recently heard about Wayne Wherle (spelling..) passing away. That saddened me greatly, Wayne was a great guy. I bought several nice items from him over the years, and he always was nice to me, from the beginning of my time in the hobby. I would like to send my condolences to his family, as well as the western PA guys, I know all you guys were close out that way.

As far as my hudsoning, I have not gotten very far, in recent months. I didn't even touch my hudson for a good year now. It is just sitting in my driveway, and until recently, on 3 flat tires, I aired them up the other day, and the right front went flat again.

I guess the time/money is never in alignment for me, and honestly, I should try and find storage for it. I guess it just comes down to a general lack of interest in it right now in this stage of my life, as well as too many other things going on.

I guess I got till 2012, sounds like the national might be in PA again, so there might be a goal for me to shoot for.

Anyway, everyone take care, thanks for taking time to read my post.

Best!

Don't give up on us. There is a lot of "inspirational" posts here that just might get you motivated again. I had a similar experience that lasted nearly 30 years. Change of career, wife, and more... glad I'm back and I hope your absense is of a shorter duration.!!

Hey I went through the same thing. I bought my '50C8 in 1985. Started on it with zeal and then got married, moved, ........ Anyway, it did not get on the road until 2005! So there is still hope!

Good to hear from you again, Hudsonkid- I miss your posts. Sorry about your hiatus from the hobby, but I think it happens often. The Model A Ford I bought in 1978 is still in my shop, waiting for that engine rebuild. . .

Most of the "duece coupe in the barn" stories are just variations on the same theme. Not uncommon to see old customs and rods from the '50's and '60's finally seeing the light of day again, and reported in the rod magazines.

Moral of the story- find a place to store it, and hang onto that Hud!

Good to hear from you, stop in a bit more often even if you're not wrenching on the car.

It's taken 3 years to get around 2 days worth of work into my truck... Extended delays are typical for anyone with family/ job bills etc. My kids range from (-2) months to (13) years old, that's priority #1 at this stage. I know that my time with them is relatively short, also my Hudson wont be on a shrinks couch in 20 years saying "My dad never made time for me. " lol

Anyway, other things come up, hang on to it. The next national on the East coast is probably the next one I'll make it to as well. It's getting trickier all of the time to make it to meets. Hudson's are roomy, but 7 is getting quite full, which means there is always a brand X or maybe no Hudson at all.

I was planning on Doc's meet this year, but nixed that last minute due to other commitments. I hoping to work it out next year.

Just got back from NY... went by the Faust place, but did not stop... too late in the morning... aka 3 AM! :( I would have like to have spent some time talking with your Dad. :)
