1957 Hudson Hornet Carburetor

Any sources or recommended rebuilds for '57 Hudson Hornet 4 BBL Carter WCFB-2593-S carburetor? Car has recently been dying under load, even a slight hill in reverse or forward and even after a few minutes warmup still spits/sputters and drops out upon acceleration or ascending a hill. Little power on hill ascension as well.

  • Thanks Paul. I recall years ago my brother had Daytona rebuild his '56 Lincoln carburetor and they did a good job. I'll contact them for a quote.

Should be a lot of specialty shops that do them- the early Corvettes also used a WCFB, I think.

Better check the play in the timing chain. Those cars had plastic teeth on the cam gear, and if it jumps time you better remove the oil pan and you will find a lot of tooth material there. Walt.
