Stepdown Window Regulators...
I got brave and attempted to replace the passenger side vent wing window regulator. I got the door panel off and then got the new regulator in position. Problem is I haven't been able to fit the wind wing back in its original position. I can't get the top vent frame guide pin (where the top vent wing pivots) in after setting the vent wing in place... whats the secret? Thanks, Niels

I had the same problem on my '53 coupe. I finally enlarged the hole in the door frame at the bottom of the vent. I made it a bit longer toward the rear, allowing for just a bit of an angle that allowed the upper pin to slip in. Not pretty, but after a lot of frustration, at least it worked!

I ended up gingerly bending the pin outwards just enough to slip it in the wind wing then pushed back in place. Man, what a headache to replace a regulator and broken vent wing!0

I had the same problem. I shortned the pin just enough to get in place. The pin still was long enough to engage securely. Norm0
