One photo from the 1912 Cotton Carnival & Races on the lawn of of the Galvez Hotel at 2024 Seawall Blvd in Galveston, TX where Hudson Motor Co. General Manager E.C. Morse (at left) managed a factory exhibit. Visiting dealers were William Steinhard of San Antonio, TX; A.C. Burton of Houston, TX; Mr Wray of Shreveport, LA; C....W. Roberts of Hondo, TX, Mr. Rose of Dallas, TX; Rupert Cox of Beaumont, TX; and others. Between 1,000 to 1,200 visitors came from Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. This was featured in The Hudson Triangle Volume 2 Number 7 on August 17, 1912. - The Galvez Hotel still overlooks the Galveston Seawall and Gulf of Mexico to date where it was built in 1911.



Other photo is from 1948 and happens to have a Hudson in it.



I'm curious if the Texas area chapter has ever done a tour there or even hosted a meet here?

    I can not answer that question, but DJ Kava is a south Texas Hudsonite who might know... at this time being is Galveston is a bit dicy... oil and the reminants of a Hurricane. But as you point out Galveston is a great place for a meet.

    BTW ... Cotton was King in Texas during this period. My town had many cotton compresses and much of the "old" monies is still tied to those days. We still have an annual Cotton Gala with a king and queen crowned for this charity event.
