Making good progress, but... (wooden window spacers)

I feel like I am making good progress in assembling the puzzle of my interior, but I have run into a question. Do I have extra parts or did I miss something?

In the first two pictures you can see where I have placed the wooden spacers. Two on the front door, and one on the rear. These seem like the right spots, but I am not 100% sure. The third picture shows a pile on the right for the other two doors, and a "spare" pieces pile on the left. Where do the other four pieces go?

That's it, you got it right.
  • What's the purpose of the wood? To support the inside window surround?

As far as I know, that's all it does. If you were to put your arm on the window without the supports, that frame would eventually bend out of shape.

I have 4 of the 6 pieces. The 2 that are missing are the really short ones.
