I got a call last night from a lady who owns a storage facility. She says that a renter has apparently abandoned what appears to be a 57 Hollywood (from some ghastly faxes she sent me). She and her husband have looked all over for a VIN, but have had no luck. They want to establish ownership in order to auction it off. I plan to go by tomorrow to check it out. Now, I am a stepdown guy and what I don't know about Kenosha Hudsons would fill volumns. Where is the VIN located? Is there a matching VIN on the block? What about the frame? Looks like it might be a pretty rare model...What should I look for other than the obvious? Thanks, guys!

    If it looks anything like this or near, and had white leather seats, it was mine.

    Storage lady needs to get in touch with law enforcement- at least in my state, there is a "procedure" that must be followed for abandoned vehicles. If they want to auction it, they will probably have to file a lien for storage, then foreclose the lien and sell the vehicle to satisfy it. There's a different (simpler) procedure if you just want to be able to turn an abandoned vehicle over to a hulk hauler and junk it.

    These folks have been in the storage business for lots of years. They sound like they are familiar with all the procedures for disposing of stuff left in storage. They just need some help in identifying what they have here.

    Nope, wrong color. The fax she sent me was black and white, not gray!
