54 Wasp for sale
Hi all,
I finally decided to get ready for retirement and my beloved 54 wasp has to go. I want to see her get a good home and so I thought I'd let the Hudson community know first.
1954 Wasp with 2 tone cream and beige paint. Absolutely no rust anywhere on it including the rear frame....pics can be provided. New interior except for the vinyl on the dash it could be updated. The headliner is original and in good shape...no rips or tears. I switched the car over from the 232 standard shift to a 308 twin H setup with the dual range hydromatic. When that was done I also used the 307 rear end ( dana 44 )from the donor car...a 53 superwasp. I also converted her over to 12 volts with an alternator. The chrome trim is in excellent shape and I have had some pieces rechromed.
Car is an excellent driver and goes hiway speeds with no problem. She has radial tires and handles like a modern car. I'm asking $12000 firm for her and she's worth more than that....you couldn't do another one to this shape for the money.
I'm in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada and I will have the car at the Cardston , Alberta car show which is the Canadian meet we are having on the weekend prior to the Spokane meet. So anyone interested is certainly welcome to come to the Cardston meet enroute to Spokane.
I have lots of pictures of the car but they need resizing....I will try to post some later.
I can be reached at HETjalin.derksen@shaw.ca (drop the het) or phone me on my cell @ 403 715 4246
reluctantly......Jim

I also have the original 232 engine, transmission, and related parts for the car so it can be converted back to original if the buyer wants but she's more enjoyable as is.0

Sweet looking ride, Jim. I have a ticket for 649 lotto this weekend -- if I pull the winning numbers I will give you full price, no questions asked. (Wouldn't it be nice if life were that easy?) Seriously, good looking car. I hope you get what you are asking and that it goes to a Hudsonite who appreciates the ride. Good luck.0

Thanks Geoff, I will miss her when she's gone ....I had her appraised this winter and it came out at $18,000 so its a fair price....my wife thinks I should ask for more but with the economy being what it is......the only thing is I have to charge a 5% sales tax as the car is actually owned by my business and I have to report the sale.0

bought a ticket to lottery today...if I win I won't have to sell her....LOL0

Nice car, Jim! Hudson had some bizarre color combinations - thankfully, yours is NOT one of those! Very nice Wasp, indeed. Wish I had the cash for that one.0

Had Wayne Holtz from Kansas City fly out here yesterday and look at my car. He thought the car was great and said it looked better in person than on pictures but....His heart is set on a hornet so did not buy it....so...back to the top.0

Jim, Great looking car,but I have a question about your recent post. If the gent from KC had his heart set on a Hornet, why would he look at your Wasp??? Just asking... not meant to ruffle anybody's feathers. Really nice car . Good luck in your sale.0 -
I'm not sure either but he and his wife are not on exactly the same page...she wants a 53 and he wants a 54. I guess he needed to look at a wasp to decide he wants a hornet....does that make any sense? Anyways they are nice folks and I hope he finds what he wants. He did offer to testify on the condition of the car for any future buyers.0

Wayne had looked at my 52 Hornet sedan also. Nice guy. He liked the way it drove but exterior cosmetics were not to a level where he wanted. Made me an offer but that didn't work out.
I had an offer from the second guy who looked at it too. The eventual buyer was from e-bay. After the auction ended, the second buyer called me back kicking himself for not buying it. I'm trying to find him a nice Hornet now.0
