According to the manual I have you are supposed to simply oil them, how exactly I don't know.0

What can one do in the way of maintenance to wrapped springs?
I want to clean and paint them.

FYI
If you really want to dissemble by C Clamping then remove the old clamps and replace the old centerbolts with new.
I install nlyon sliders in-between the leaves and sometimes drill and install sliders only at each end of the leafs. I rewrap with Racer Tape to seal from dirt but somewhere I seen repo Wrap. However if leafs not broken or sagging I would just Grease them by puncture hole the wrapping perhaps use a rattle can lube to spray inside the wrap further.0
