Doesn't this look strange? 180 mph?

    Probably metric, 0-180 kilometers per hour.

    Same as my '37, but the '37 (being rather hopeful) goes all the way to 200! Requires constant metric conversion when driving here in the States, but well worth it when car show spectators behold it and their eyes bug out...

    I have a 1936 car built in England where they use Metric. Mine is good old MPH? Sorry for the bad photo--the light was really bad...

    England did not switch over to metric until after 1968. The process began in 68 and it took till the 80's before everything was switched over. So your 36 would have indeed been mph.

    Speedo's (and speed limits) over here in the UK are still in MPH , the more "modern" speedo's have the metric equivalents posted underneath them.
