Fellow Hudnuts,



Here are some photos of the 1950 Hudson I recently purchased from the grandson of the original owner. A lovingly cared for car with good bones. Engine rebuild in 1975 along with renewed cork clutch at the same time. Lots of dust to be cleaned off from sitting in the garage since 1991. Will be picking it up this coming Saturday. I can't wait!!!

    Nice looking car Glenn. I was taken back abit when I saw the dash until I realized that my car was dark grey with blue interior. Yours looks like it has three-on-the-tree and a radio. Mine has the overdrive and no radio. Funny how people choose to spend their money in the early 50's? I started sanding mine out today to paint it. With any luck from the weather I should be able to spray it this weekend. I am doing a "paint in the front yard" restoration and having a bunch of fun. This is how we fixed up our cars in the 50's. I'll post some photo's after I shoot it......

    And now the question of the evening - assuming you are a member of the Hudson club, are you also a member of the New England Chapter??

    Also, the president of the chapter, Tom Brintnall, has a 50 C8Sed, among other things.



    Nice bunch of people up there - I was a New England Chapter member for nearly 40 years, and still am tho I now live in Memphis.

    Congatulations Hudsonguy! Funny but I could swear I saw a picture of this car yesterday or a couple days ago. Was it on Craiglist? The fact that the back bumper is not there stroke me. The add said something about a bent fender or something like that... I don't recall exactly. Looks quite better on your pictures. I think you won't sleep much til saturday...

    Yes it is the exact car that was on Craigslist. Just got off the phone with the previous owner and he stated that he has the complete service record for the car from 1950 to present day. He is even going to include the original dealer invoice. He stated that the car cost $2625 when it was new. Considering that I paid $2600 for the car, the family only lost $25 on it. (LOL). Not bad depreciation for 60 years of ownership. Only 3 days to go til she's home.

    This is the car I mentioned in my post a week or so ago. It's five miles from my house, practically on the same street. The car is rather well known locally.

    Looks like it'll make a nice "driveable dream" with a little, it is to be hoped, work to get it back on the road.
