Went to AMC Meet yesterday

Was planning on going to my son's football game yesterday but the game was cancelled. I wasn't able to attend the All California meet either. So I found out about this local AMCmeet just 15 min from me. Drove my Hudson but did not enter it.

I was pretty disappointed by the quality of cars. There were only a 5 or so really nice condition cars (a few AMX's) and the rest were either ho-hum or just downright depressing. There were a couple Pacers there that you could have found in the parking lot of a public housing unit. No wonder AMC went out of biz!

Seems like kind of a trend- bring your ho-hum car to the car show, everybody's welcome. That and the "rat rods".

I can see bringing an unfinished car, if its something special, or a car in really nice original condition, but seeing the same barn-condition '53 Plymouth 4 door at every show around here is getting a little old.

AMC seems to get no love outside of cars like the AMX or certain Javelins. But they're a lot cheaper to play with than a lot of makes. In some ways they're in the situation Hudson was in, in this hobby up until the late '80's

Sounds a lot like the Hudson Club in the 70's......
