A while back, there was a discussion about woodgrain in the 48-49 models. The base paint color codes were posted by Dennis in NY(?). I can't seem to find that info. I think he sold his red convert and I haven't seen any posts from him in a long time. Don't recall his screen name.

I found the answer.. Russ Maas posted it on a thread about Nicks 48 convert. Dupont Chromabase YS311K for the maple and YS254K for the walnut.

I would have deleted my first post, but didn't find the option..

His forum name was DennisinNY (I think), Dennis Cusack. He did indeed sell his convertible and no longer posts here on the forum. I believe it was his only Hudson, although he has many other makes of cars.

Seems like a labor of love to do a convert... Then sell it? Bummer..

I have only sold one 49 convert. Will never do that aagin.. Of course I need to have another one to have the oportunity..
  • Does anybody have an idea what the color code would be for the blue base for the
    "woodgrain" on a '51?
