Might not be quite what you are looking for but Smokey Yunicks book "THE BEST DAMN GARAGE IN TOWN" is a great read and has a section on the Hudson and its early days in NASCAR. A great story covering a man that did most everything in the automotive field and a lot more.0

i just checked out "the history of hudson" by don butler from the library. last week i also read "cars of the early 20's"- i forget the author. it had a great section on early hudsons- wouldn't help much on your 52 hollywood though.0

A good one on the history of Hudson is "Roy D. Chapin: The Man Behind the Hudson Motor Car Company"
Then there is Butlers "History of Hudson" mentioned above;
Hemmings Motor News put out "Book of Hudsons"
These are just a few. John Conde had "AMC Family Album", which shows pictures of just about every Hudson built. Richard Longworth also had a couple Hudson books, but they are hard to find now.
A search of amazon.com or alibris.com (Hudson Motor Car Company) will turn up other books.

chapin's biography was a good read about the formation of hudson and the early auto industry. i really like conde's "the cars that hudson built" for production car info. butler's book was a good read also. those are my top 3. regards, tom0

Adding to the list would be TOTAL DOMINATION by Jack C. Miller. Also, if you do not have one already, a copy of Hudson Mechanical Procedure Manual for your car is a must have. I believe the HET Club store have both of them available.
Enjoy your new 52 Hudson.
Have a good day. Lee0 -

For Hudsons history in NASCAR get FORTY YEARS OF STOCK CAR RACING The Beginning 1949-1958. By Greg Fielden
It tells about every race, every driver, every car entered and every finishing position 1st to last. There are pictures you probably have not seen before. Get aquainted with lesser known Hudson drivers.
It was an eye opener. As good as the Hudson was in NASCAR, it still took the best drivers to put it in front. Even though Hudsons dominated NASCAR, there were alot of Hudsons and other makes that finised at the bottom. And there were many good drivers of other makes giving no quarter to Hudsons.
Very good book. It was in one of the boxes of literature that came with the 52 Hudson Hornet I bought recently.

There seems to be a newcomer to the ranks of Hudson books

and possibly this one too

I have the Patrick Foster book. Buy it from Amazon its way cheaper. Foster writes for Hemmings Classic Car. The book is fine as an introduction to Hudsons. If you have not read any of the other books its a good beginning. If on the other hand you have read all the other books this book reads like someone who read all the other books and summarized them in this book. No new ground or info here but a solid introduction to Hudsons.0
