1980's Hudson Meet on video

After my parents passed away, I inherited a VHS tape that had 3 Hudson meets on it. The tape had been made in the late 1980's, by the Kerchner family from Spring Grove, Pa. After using it for my own personal enjoyment, I have started editing it to make it available for others to enjoy. The meet I have ready was hosted by my parents, Ruth and Richard Royer, and took place at Old Bedford Village, Bedford, Pa.

What a way to start the day!!!!! Thanks for sharing - that's great. Being also a 2-lane roadie fan it's not hard to imagine, from those shots out on U S 30, that it's the 1950's all over again!!!
Those shots of the covered bridge were outstanding.

The 1930 Essex was such a dark blue, that most thought it was black. This video is the only image of it where it actually looks blue.

  • Matt's grandfather, Richard, had 2 cars at the meet. The 1930 Essex and his 1947 Commodore Six which is seen toward the end of the video. Some years after his death, his wife, Ruth sold the '47 to R. J. Pittaway. It is now on the Isle of Man where he resides.
