Or convert them to trailers?0

Well I did'nt but yes someone did. I found it in a salvage yard several years ago.

Roger-
Been meaning to ask: What the heck are we looking at in your Avatar? Obviously a Hudson, but . . . I just can't firure it out. Looks like a trunk where the hood should be . . . sort of.0 -
From comments he has made I expect it is a home made enclosed travel trailer?0
-
Yes it was a camper an old guy was building but he died before finnishing. I just could'nt leave it sit in the scap yard where I first found it. You could make it back into a 49 Commadore or on into a camper. I am not sure yet what I will do. I have thought about finishing it to haul parts to our swap meets. Tow it maybe behind my 47 Pick-up.

Looks like he's down to $65,000 now. Still has very little discription of the features . Say's its got 12 volt accessories but sure looks like 8-volt battery
to em. I noticed the overdrive knob under the dash a big plus he never mention's.
The ad has had over 1000 views so far. He seem's to be getting a little testy.
The ad has a phone # and say only GOOD HOMES NEED CALL. Think he got a few ears full ? No . . . I did not call him,

I think Roger is trying for a land based model of the ferry Kalakala that used to ply the waters of Puget Sound.
(kinda looks like the stepdown mother ship)

That KalaKala ferry sort of reminds me of another crazy idea using a Hudson - Sir Vival. I think this has been on the forum before, but we'll toss it in for now.
By the way the car is still around - owned by HET member Ed Moore in Mass.
Sort of looks like a Jeep (front end) that went crazy one night with a step-down. :woohoo:

Wow! Still a bit pricey!0

Cool Old Ship, very art-deco. We have one quite simmilar in St.louis ,SS Admiral.
Its retired now and is a floating casino. We all grew up riding it on the Mississippi . It was built in the 30's on the hull of an older ship .
Roger0 -
I sure hope he gets close to $125,00 for it. I've got a couple that should bring twenty ot thirty thousand.
That is if I could get them running.0 -
Thanks Roger, now I understand what I'm looking at when viewed from the side, as in your new avatar. Interesting trailer, that's for sure. I think use it to haul parts to the swap meet is a grand idea.0

Its only 50K now.0

Quick! Let's all hurry up and not bid to see what it gets listed for next time!0

I've had it with this joker.... I'm going to offer him one hundred billion trillion dollars in order to put us out of our miseries!0

I for one always enjoy these eBay diversions. Watching them list it 500 times before coming down to a reasonable price. Or never. I have seen cars relisted 10 times or more with the same price or higher and they never sell and the sellers never learn.
I am watching a guy who is asking 75K for a 1971 Buick Riviera. Guy has to be kidding I past up a pristine one for 8K because I have run out of hiding places for all my cars.
Still it gives me a hearty laugh and thats a good thing.0 -

The way I see it you only need to list it twice. The first time with a high reserve (this is the "wish" part of the process.) The second listing should have a reserve about $1,000 below what the first process high bid.
Or, just list it without a reserve and start the bidding at "o". Where is the spirit of reality these days0 -
I think this guy must have seen a covertible sold at on of the telivised auctions. Now he thinks if it says "Hudson" on it is enough to retire on,

A few years ago an HET Club Member sold an early '50s GM concept car (Buick, I think) at Barrett-Jackson for around $3.2 million...about 4 times what they thought it would sell for. The joke at the time was as follows:
Q. How many Hudsons can you buy for $3.2 million?
A. All of them.
Not true, but funny...0 -
There seems to be a lot of reruns on Ebay lately. My favorite is the Biddle and Smart 29. Nice car....
Anyway, I sent a note to the guy with the $125,000 car and gave him a rough estimate of what I think his car is worth. My main suggestion was that he should drive and enjoy this car as a way to honor the memory of his dad..... Never heard back---I guess if I sent him a $400.00 stamp he might write back?0 -
Now only $105,000 less than his original asking price:

At least he kept going down. Some guys post the same car at the same price over and over again. I think they are hoping that one guy who likes to buy overpriced cars is finally looking at ebay ads.
20K is in the ball park.0
