Hudson Pickup box on eBay

The seller didn't mention the dimensions of the box, but when he mentioned the "unusual latches" at the side, it made me wonder if this isn't one of the slide-out pickup boxes that were used on the late 1930's / early 40's utility coupes?0

Give the rails included (that the box is sitting on) and the stuff along the sides of the box, I'd say that is a sliding pickup box for a utility coupe.
These boxes were aftermarket, in a sense, and other car makers used them. I've seen them in Dodge and Plymouth coupes, for example.

I agree, it looks like a box from a Utility Coup.0
