Milling a 39 head

I am taking the 39 engine apart that goes into the 37 PU, as I found heavy rust deposits in the water chamber areas after pulling the side plates and head. I want to go ahead and have the head milled while it is off. What is a safe mill cut limit on these?

    Im interested in this as well,guesswork is too risky.Also,re the rust in the chambers,try the molasses mix(4-1)for about a week.

    0.030 is the most you can remove and be on the safe side. Any more and you will have gasket problems. Walt.
