Fine weather to get cars out down under
Finally got some fine weather to get the Hudson out for a drive after all our rain over winter, Oh how good it feels to get back behind the wheel and the old Hudson starts right up, mind you I have to say the Olds in the model A did too but that has an electric fuel pump.

Your cars stand out very well on that luscious green carpet. Here (Colorado, USA) we are getting prepared for snow :S so driving our Hudson's will soon be limited. In the winter the highway department coats the road surface with mag-chloride which melts the ice, but causes severe damage to cars.

I am somewhat like a kid in a candy store as I gaze out my window waiting for the snow flakes to fall. Our summer season has past. Fall is on the way out and old man winter is moving in as we speak. It has rained all day and our local weather girl is saying that after the front passes this evening the cold front and snow will start. We have had a few dustings of snow on the mountain peaks to the East of my home but this will be our first visit of the white stuff in the valley--if it really does snow.... Perhaps I should pack up my belongings and catch a freighter going downunder? Well, perhaps after Laughlin?0

Nice to see your cars out on the green grass, look great!
I can't say too much though, So Cal does not get too much snow. Had mine out at a show yesterday along with my son and his brand X. Had an interview with a guy from the local collage automotive design department, said his professor will flip seeing the interview about a Hudson Pickup. Things went very well for my son and I, both awarded.
Take care all and keep showing off your Hudsons!

I thought you always have nice weather down there. I'll soon be putting my Pacemaker away for the winter and I envy you having your cars out now.
Those are both great looking cars.

Are you going to take her to the Beach Hop next year?
Got my tickets (ultimate) at 1st I missed out and emailed them in case someone canceled and enclosed a pic, they emailed me back 10 mins later and said that I could have 1 :woohoo:
I had heard a rumor that they had tucked some away from a guy we deal with on a regular basis and hes there every year
Phew was the 1st time in 4 years I didn't have 1 though the cars only been there once

G'Day middletom.
We here in Sydney Australia, have our cars out 12 months of the year, no such thing as putting them away for winter, the weather here is near perfect all year round, bit colder in winter, but, still able to get the cars out for a drive etc.0 -
Hi Mike, that weather has been a long time coming. Good to see you have been making the most of it too. I went to the first few beach hops but I guess I am a bit old fashioned ( or maybe just a bit too tight ) in that I don't like paying to put on a show for other people to make money out of. Don't mean to be negative and I know lots of people enjoy it and thats great ( everyone to their own ). I hope you have a great time, maybe you will make the "blow out" this time and I will see you there.
Cheers Mike.0 -

Took the 28 E Coupe to the HET AGM in Hanmer Springs last weekend. Down through Taylor's Pass & the Awatere Valley to Molesworth Station, overnight at H S & then over Jolie's Pass & up thru Rainbow Station to overnight at Murchison & back to H S via the Maruia Saddle. 4 days of great weather, unsealed roads, pot holes & corrugations (espec on Rainbow),lots of fords (non auto!!) & marvellous big country. 10 -12 cars from a 26 Essex sedan (with a 3 year old) to a 36 T Coupe including a 34 Railton 8 & a old Land Cruiser. No real probs & a hell of a lot of fun.
I'll mail Sam J a DVD of photos & he may choose to print some.
Sorry to be so wordy but I'm still buzzing!!0 -
I guess those of us that live in San Francisco are lucky also, car is out 12 months a year. Tomorrow we leave at 5 am for Baker, CA, overnight, then on with our Gas Economy Run to Avi Resort & Casino, Laughlin, NV. where the run ends. Many Hudsons make this run. Walt.0

FYI
Well luckier than some of us reluctantly putting our Hudson's away for our 4 months of winter in NW Pa with sleet tonight and flurrys forecasted for wknd.
May keep one Hudson out in case no salt went on roadways.....I used to drive them yr round back in the day but too risky now and difficult to rinse off underneath...0 -
Looked out this morning and got to see the first snow flakes of the season here in Ohio. Time to get the snow tires on the Terraplane Truck.0
