Good morning. I have a 1949 hudson that I have been paying storage fees on for 17 years. I am unable to do anything with this car, restoration, and I have tried selling it but you know this economy. The car does not run, no motor or trany, no title, just the body, seats, axils and 4 flat tires. I am at the point where I am will to give it away to someone who is willing to tow it away. I am in Reno Nevada. Call me or e-mail me with any questions. I would hate for it to just go to a junk yard.

I gave him a call. Nice young fellow. He is going to send me some photo's and as soon as they show up I will post them (perhaps this weekend). He tells me that it is a 2-door (that could mean coupe or brougham?) I would love to see one of our folks who live closer (Las Vegas or So California) pick this up, but, what the heck-it's only a day away-perhaps this deserves a road trip next week?

    FYI

Either Cpe or Tudor, for the price, it may be a rust free chassis to obtain from that area ...

Brownie, Did you see the sign with Hudson parts for sale, at Laughlin, next to the 19/20 Hudson, with a skelton for a driver? Well I called and he has taken the runing gear out to rod the Hudson. From the fan back to the rear end. Has over drive. Said he drove the Hudson to the shop! (Heard that before) . $500.00

    Vic,
I did see it and spoke to him for a few minutes. One of the things that I like about the Hudson folks is that there are plenty of cars out there to work on with plenty of available parts. This coupe in Reno would go great with one of the 308 engines that currently is available. Little time, little money and some great fun and another hobby car on the road.....

:) Soke to Jonathon about his free '49 Hudson. Very nice guy. I am going to try and pickit up next week, depending on the weather. A big storm is on its way and that may cause problems. To good of a deal to pass up. It is about fifty miles from here and I do not want another Hudson going to the junkyard. Here they would just crush it. Sounds like a tudor sedan from the description, but I will have to waite untill the door to the storage unit is opened. I will keep you posted. Wish me luck. Arnie in Nevada

You just discribed my son. Last I heard he has 14 cars.

    4 at his home.
    1 at my home
    2 at body shop
    1 at his work
    10 ?
Add 2 more his new bride has.

Fortunately for him, she is a car gal. But I expect she might persuade him to down size some. I was never able to convlince him to down size. I only have six. He must have inherited that from his grandpa. He had that many stashed around town, at one time, that Mom didn't know about.

I considered the freebee, but for peace in the family it was better left to someone else.

I think that was very wise choice, Lee. But I think "Dirty Harry" said it best.

    Brownie,

I wish I had more pics of the car! The fella we bought the '39 112 from sent me that picture a while back.

A couple of years ago someone on the forum posted pics of this same car from a hot rod show and I thought I had saved them but.....

It looks like a really nice rod but when they chop the top it ruins the look of them. Like with this 112. [ebay]230549569384[/ebay]

I certainly don't dislike rods by any means but I don't think it really works with these cars. Just my opinion!

But it looks better than any pictures of our '39.
