K-GAP
I have been watching the controversy regarding this topic and decided to offer
my thoughts and perhaps some possible answers to the problem.
1. For those who say that they NEVER receive a response to their E-Mails..
HAVE YOU CHECKED IN YOUR E MAIL JUNK FOLDER?
2. For those who say that they do Not receive phone response:
DO YOU HAVE VOICE MAIL OR A RECORDER ON YOUR PHONE SET UP?
THIS RESPONSE"We answer every phone call and every email we receive. We can not help it if you do not have answering machines or emails do not go through.
PROMPTS THE QUESTIONS I ASK..Something just does NOT ADD UP
ALSO:"WE DO NOT TAKE MONEY UP FRONT ANY MORE FOR ITEMS NOT IN STOCK, WE STOPPED DOING THIS ALMOST 6 MONTHS AGO." conflicts with the statement "You sent your money on Nov 4, 2010. If the mats were NOT in STOCK why did he send money to K Gap for items Not in Stock?

Here is one email that does not stack up.
K-Gap stated that the package was on it's way 19th October 2010
and said about 8 days for delivery, as you can see by their reply below.
From: Kgap [mailto:kgaphet@aol.com]
Sent: Tuesday, 19 October 2010 4:45 AM
To: katrina.monckton@bigpond.com
Subject: Re: Monckton - Engine mounts
Good Morning David and Katrina,
We recieved the check, thank you. Your order was held up because the transmounts did not get done when they told us they would. Your package is on it's way. You should have it in about 8 days.
We hope all is well with you and your family.
Thank you
Dany and Kaylene
KGAP.
This is the reply from David Monckton I received this afternoon.(03.12.10)
The mounts arrived yesterday!! They were posted on 20.11.10. I understand the pressures of small businesses but she should have responded to my emails.
It also appears that the mounts were not in stock at the time, and NOT posted on the date as they stated.0 -
Tom, Huddy 42 and all the rest, let me anwser your question, we do not take money up front when people call over the phone for items we do not have in stock. The invoice for the mats included items we had already sent to Jack and he asked us to send him an invoice for the mats and the already sent items. Jack only waited 9 working days before he contacted Paypal, and never once contacted us. Now, he has his money and now he has cheated us out of the money for the items we already sent him. And to answer the question with the Monckton, we did send it, they said they had not received it. Anytime someone says they have not receive an item especially if it's out of the country we just send out another one no questions asked. This is what we did. Here is the USPS Tracking # LJ655542435US.
When people send us money for orders through the mail or from the online store, yes, money is usually paid up front. Not because we request it, but because people just send it or like most online stores you have to pay first.
I will be the first one to say, yes there has been time phone calls and emails have not be responded to, all I was saying there are many many times we get accused of not answering calls or emails and we have made the calls and sent the emails.
You guys get on this forum and are so ready to trash people with out all the facts, you are so ready to accuse someone before you know both sides of the story. Like Huddy42, he hasn't ordered from us since 2009, he has every item he paid for, but yet he is on here trashing us. I sent the Monckton's an email letting them know I had resent the package, but was that conveyed on here NO, they did not even respond to my email.
So, guys put on your grown up male briefs, stop trashing others so you can feel better about yourselves and find out what the hell is going on before you trash others.0 -
All right enough is enough.
Cheated out of what! I initally ordered 8 door bumpers. You sent me 4. Whern I ordered the running board mats I asked about the missing 4 from the previous order. I was told I only ordered 4 - well since I have 4 doors I guess there was a mis understanding. I then reorder the remaing 4 bumpers and a set of mats. I have not received the bumpers so I cannot cheat you out of anything.
As far as not answering my emails - like I'm not the only one with that issue!
To set this straight. If you have the mats complete and ready for shipment with the bumpers I'll pay in 5 minutes via Paypal again. Please advise as to your intentions!0 -
These threads always leave me feeling a little  and I tend to avoid them, but I just wanted to say that when I ordered some parts from k-gap, door seals, I received my order in a timely fashion. I placed the order via phone and paid via paypal. The only trouble I ran into was that when I used google to search for k-gap it went to their old webpage that had incorrect contact information. http://www.k-gap.com & www.k-gapstore.com still both show up searching for "kgap" on google, but http://www.k-gap.com now says it is closed.0

Ahhh..JUST AS I SUSPECTED...
WHAT WE HAD HERE WAS A FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE...
I have been in Sales for almost 40 Years and what I have found out is that the majority of these type issues come down to a lack of understanding of the COMPLETE FACTUAL INFORMATION by either one or both partys involved in the transaction.
THIS APPEARS TO BE THAT TYPE OF SITUATION.. The explination provided by K-GAP
clears up the matter to my satisfaction.. Unfortunately it only takes a few of these type of situations to occur and like an avalanche it's all down hill from
there.
I PROPOSE A SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE CURE...AN ARBITRATOR OR OMBUDSMAN.....
IF this type of solution is helpful I would be glad to offer myself for this
volunteer position.. I AM EASILY REACHED 24/7 VIA BOTH E MAIL and PHONE (WITH VOICE MAIL).
NOW THAT I AM RETIRED I MIGHT AS WELL PUT MYSELF TO SOME SORT OF COMMUNITY SERVICE ...What better than the HUDSON COMMUNITY.0 -

I feel the same way except for the avoidance part. It's like a train wreck, hard for me to look away.
I've had no problems ordering from them in the past. Actually, I have an outstanding order with them now. In fact, it was this topic that made me realize that I needed some stuff from them!
The thing I always try to remember; usually, the minority is the most vocal.
In this case, there are some valid concerns from some customers. They chose to bring it here to this forum and vent. That's fine. What really grinds my gears however, is the back and forth between the Springs and the customers for all to see. If they would take the argument to PMs, or (god forbid) the phone, we might avoid losing even more forum members due to anger. One on One communication is always prefered in situations such as this. We don't need to see them work out whatever deal they will come up with. That's between them.
I would hate to lose the K-Gap presence here on the most active "Hudson" site on the whole fricken Internet due to conflicts getting blown out of control.0
