I know what I'm asking Santa for Christmas...0

Looks great. How was Empire to deal with? I have heard bad things about them, and would like to put them to rest.0
-
I am assuming that this is a repro that's now available? If so, could you give me the contact information for the fabricator? I'd like to ask him (her?) if I could list it on my Hudson Repro webpage at http://www.detailedconcepts.net/Repro_Table.pdf (which of course might bring in an additional customer or two!).0
-
Great company to deal with as far as I'm concerned. Kept us up to date and in the loop the whole way.
JonB, maybe Rudy will Chime in here, But I know Empire would be glad to have them posted.

Now that you mention it,it sure would look sweet under the tree...
and I have been pretty good this year.:whistle:0 -
Rudy and Chuck are working with Empire on a matching finned intake to go along with the head.
Randy Maas will be doing testing on the head. Anyone wanting to donate a few bucks to Randy for the test sessions and such are welcome. Randy has a paypal account that he posted on here before.0 -
Jon,And to All, Thanks so much to Kerry for posting the pictures and info on the Twin-Vortex Aluminum cylinder head for the Wide-Block 51-56 232,262,308 Hudson engines.
We are making a Color flyer with pictures and specs.of the head and when ready we will send in to the forom and the HET Mag.
The Co.has worked very well with us for the past 7 months on this project to make it a reality and we are very pleased with them as we were in there Hair every week, they took Pride it as if it were there own.
They will be marketing the Head,Chuck and I just designed it like no other head ever made for the Hudson engine.
Randy Maas and Chuck will be testing on the road and strip and will put it to some Testing that will be very hard and abusive to the head and to the complete power train and let all know how it did.
More later Hudsonly Rudy and Chuck:)0 -

I'm betting once Mama learns the price, not THAT good. . :P0 -
A finned intake would be cool aswell. Anyone know the expected price point of the new head?0
-
This is GREAT news! I have a 308 that is on deck and that head looks might purdy... I'm excited to hear more about it!0
-
FYI
Its not for me to say but (I believe) the new dual 2bbl Aluminum Intake under development will match the appearance of the new Aluminum cylinder Head making a nice performance package......0 -
Thanks Chuck, we will be checking on progress of the Intake today at the plant.
Hope to get some pictures of it. The price is not yet. Still in the making stage.
Hudsonly to all Rudy and Chuck:)0 -

Ol Racer... appreciate the disclaimer. It will just be nice for Hudsonites to have another hi-po option. Thanks.0 -

Wow, looks great! How much and when will they be available?0 -
The stock cast iron head is 46-48 lbs and the stock Aluminuin is 20 lbs, the New B-F Aluminum head is 24 lbs.
From EMI--
The Hudson, Head 1951-56, Aluminum (356-T6) Finned Cylinder Head 8.4/1, will develop approx. 185 HP. Texture finish, Presser Tested, the amount is $900.00, plus S & H, Wood Boxed/Steel Banded, State Side $90.00, Total price is $990.00. Mfg to Order, Paid W/Order.
If you purchased 5 Heads or More we give you 25% discount to $675.00 for a Sale of $3,375.00, Plus S & H lot Shipment of $200.00, Total Sale of $3,575.00. Delivery approx. 12 Wks.
(again, a multi order of 5 would bring the cost down, maybe a chapter buy? Or a group get together and have one person handle the buy)0 -
I called them today and was told the same thing. He also mentioned the new intake manifold will run about $550. I was told Randy Maas is getting a head today so we should be hearing about testing shortly. Cool.0
-
If the numbers and performance are good from Randy's testing I would pop on one for $675 no problem and take an intake as well. Like to know if I could run Weber carbs on that intake?0
-
I think Weber carbs are side-draft, aren't they?
Guess I would recommend we wait until Randy tests the head- then see if we can get a group to commit to a 5 head order (or more), rather than "going it alone".
Pretty neat deal coming together here.0 -
There's downdraft webers. I got a Roch 4GC on a 2bbl intake, where there's a will there's a way.

The heads would need to be paid for up front, then when the order is filled, shipped to one point and either picked up at that point or ?0 -
Can someone explain the intake to me? I have a stock 308 with Twin-H right now. Other than being aluminum, what is different about the 'new' intake? Can I run the Twin-H Setup on it?
Thanks0 -
Rudy ---where are you ?
The one being worked on now is an aluminum finned 2 carb intake to match the new head- or use with the old one. It will be for two- two barrels I believe.
Pictures of the molds will be available shortly. :cheer:0 -

Thanks
Additionally I heard the new Aluminum finned Intake will have modern flow enhancements and may accept a couple different 2bbl carb bases!
An Intake like this for Hudson is long overdue.....0 -

Also, if I didn't misunderstand, he told me it is going to be two pieces, not one?0 -
Rudy & Chuck, please attach the name to which I can forward a small donation to assist in the testing. I have been following this subject and I really find your flathead work interesting. I currently do not have a Super Six, however I applaud your efforts, and wish you the best of successes! Regards, Silver Dome0
