For those that have an interest (or had an interest in the past), I am beginning to update my blog with work over the last year.

It's been one sorry year, but progress is being made regardless on the convertible. Maybe . . . or as Martin Scorsese says, "Maybe, maybe, maybe . . . maybe . . .", it might be ready for Gettysburg 2012. That's the new goal, anyway.

Also, I just realized that the link below my signature was wrong (fixed) and who knows how long it has been like that.

New Year's Resolution is to do a better job on keeping those with an interest better informed.

    WOW!!!! I think that what you've done over the past 16 months shows up rather vividly because you haven't been posting progress to your blog - we get it all at once.

    Since I've been lucky enough to watch you work on some pieces (and enjoyed helping you - even if it was minimal for one day and I damn near caught pneumonia in the process) I know that you are a stickler for getting it right.

    That's gonna be one gorgeous convert when you "git 'er done!!! I surely do hope you can get it ready for Gettysburg - it would be one of the highlights.

    Keep on truckin' - you'll get there.

    PS - I can't remember how to change your signature either!!!! :oops:

    click on your user ID to take you to your profile. Look for the tab in there that says "Forum" then click on "Edit Profile" you will now see a page you can edit all your info on. Click on the tab that says "Profile Information" in there you will find the place to change your signature.

    Simple 500 clicks later you are done. :blink:

    russell, I was checking out the blog and want to help your fretting on the wheel situation. If I recall you were using a 54 hudson continental to start, is that correct? (if not disregard the rest) anyway the stock steel wheel and wires used a different wheel support. the arm comes up the face of the wheel between it and the bumper, think about how different the wheels are in that area and it becomes obvious that the same kit cannot apply. there was parts for the wires in the book but i have not seen one.so you would be looking at fabbing a new mounting arrangement.

    I'm not really worried about it, I planned on using the steel wheel from the beginning. I've got a cool hubcap (Hudson) which I think will look pretty cool. I'll try and post a picture of it soon. No worries! Oh, and yes, it's from a '54.

    Wow! Congratulations Russell and thanks for the post. I will follow that restoration very meticulously as I intend to begin mine (54 Super Wasp) this year.
    ( My love for Hudsons began in 1962 when I was nine and my father arrived in a 1951 Hudson Hornet Convertible he just bought for $125. It was the first car we kept so long, 2 years...). Always will be my first choice!

    Ha Ha. I think I'm the jealous one! If I ever get this one done, it's a late 30's to 40's model, next. I love your '38! Ideally, a '42 C8Cv would be just about perfect, for me.
