Having looked over the shop manual in this catergory, the diagram shows both a spring and rubber pad/seal. This is on the engine side. What would be a suitable spring in that configuartion that would work and where to find? I'm hopeful I can find conveyor belt material for the pad. The spring looks to be conical shape like a door escuthsion spring.
Thanks in advance,
Kim

I think you are talking about the pedal to toeboard cushion for the brake and clutch pedals, right? K-Gap offers the 1934 version for sale, which (it says) should fit right up to the StepDown years. See http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/kgapstore/Categories?category=Pedal+Covers+&+Pedal+Related

You should definitely contact them before ordering, however, as I have heard that they may be out of stock on some items.

To be honest, many cars used a similar pad and so you might be able to find one listed in the catalog of a vintage Ford, Chevy, or other car reproductions catalog.

As to the spring, try contacting one of the vendors who lists used Hudson items in the WTN for sale, they may have a few of them lying around.
  • You can use the spring that is behind your door panels where the window and door handles go on. It's shape like a funnel, just what you need. Walt.

Here is a complete kit for brake and clutch pedal, for a Willys Jeep. http://www.kaiserwillys.com/product/960/willys-jeep-brakes-linkage-parts-accessories You'd have to verify that they would fit the holes and pedal shaft on your car, of course. I'll bet that vintage Chevy, Ford and Plymouth repro parts sellers have something similar.

I knew you folk would set me in a positive direction. I really appreciate the guidance. I'm sure I'll have more as I make the turn to clean, paint and reassemble the front end.
    Thanks again,
    Kim

Thank you Jon B cause I have a 57 Willys Utility Wagon that I intend to finish before getting on the Hudson and this site will be useful to me. Michel.
