All,

Can anyone provide photos or illustrations of the 262 Twin H linkage? I need to construct a set. Thanks.

R/ Roger.

Is your 262 in a short or long wheel base car? If long wheel base, than it is the same as a Hornet. Short wheel base is different.
  • The pictures are on a long wheel base. The linkage on a short wheel base are totally different. I have a 52 Pacemaker with twin H but its buried in a garage. If you have a 262 manifold the spacing of the bolts holding the carb. on is different also. I have just bought a didgital camera but, dont know how to sent pictures yet on computor. As soon as I can figure that out and dig the car out I will sent them.

  • for good factory pictures of the 262 linkage used in the short wheelbase cars check out the Hudson Factory Hydra-Matic Supplement manual from 1953. They show towards the back the 232 1bbl, 262 2bbl and the 262 Twin-H linkage layout and adjustments for the Hydra-Matics. Manual transmission versions would not have the extra arm on the bellcrank at the base of the block next to the oil pressure relief valve port used to set Hydra-Matic throttle valve pressure.
the attack pictures shows the bellcrank and its mounting location used on all short wheelbase Hudsons.
