Loss of Joel Horne, Virginia H-E-T Member
I'm sorry to report the passing of Joel Horne, H-E-T member, "car guy" and a good friend to many Club members. Joel died unexpectedly on Friday, while recovering at home from a broken hip, leaving his family and friends shocked and saddened.
Joel had worked with cars since the early 1950's (his first job was with a Hudson dealer in Washington, D.C.) and in his later years ran an auto repair shop on his farm in Waterford, Virginia, where he specialized in older cars. He loved all antique cars, but especially Hudsons, Packards, and Chrysler products.
The funeral is planned for 3:00 PM on Tuesday, January 18 at the Catoctin Presbyterian Church in Waterford, VA. I will add further information as I receive it, as an "edit" to this post.
Because Joel had a wide circle of friends, his family has not had a chance to alert all of them yet. So I apologize if you knew Joel and are just now reading of his death. I thought it better to release the information now, than to hold it back any longer.

This was indeed a shock. Joel was a help to me on many occasions when I was working on my ’50. I bought and sold parts to him more than once. He was just a heck of a nice guy. What a loss!0
