I've taken a laod of parts to the stripper to include the exhaust manifold and whant to see what you think is a good coating to put on it or have put on it. Or should I do nothing.
Thanks in advance,
Kim

Jet-coated, powder-coated or high-temp paint are the typical finishes.

Jet Coat is probably most durable. It comes by other names also.
  • With the silver paint color that is standard on Hudson 8's, I used Eastwood's stainless steel exhaust coating/paint on my 50C8 exhaust manifold. It stays a nice silver color that is not too far from then engine color, just a bit dull. The factory painted the manifolds with that same paint as the engine and let it burn off where it got hot enough to do so. The nice thing about the Eastwood coating is that you don't have to get rid of all the rust, just the loose stuff. And you can go back & touch it up any time you need to and it will blend in as it gets hot.

I had my manifold poclainized about 12 years ago when we rebuilt the engine. Unfortuneatly within a year the porclain came off in about three pieces.
