1953 ENGINE PAINT

The Duplicolor engine paints are good for 500 F, and their Universal Gold is a really good match to the original engine color. I don't know of a gold hi-temp paint. My infrared thermometer reads substantially less than 500 on the exhaust manifold with engine warmed up, but it's probably above that when running down the road at highway speeds.0

Duplicolor works great. If you can't find the Universal Gold, Oldsmobile Gold is almost an exact match (high temp paint, as well.)0

Actually I believe the exhaust was as cast. Why spend time and money on paint that is going to burn off anyway. Here is a Pic of My 54 Hornet engine. Of course Your Engine would be Gold..Just My 2 cents worth. I used VHT engine paint on mine.
