I am need of purchasing a Gas Filler Neck Grommet for my 1950 Pacemaker. K-Gap does not sell any for this model year.

I will also need the complete flange and seal that goes in the florr of the trunk. The one I just ahd to take out is beyond repair.

Comments

  • The floor area had a set of three metel pieces in a triangle shape holding a plain rubber flap on most stepdowns ive taken apart. And body sealer was used to finish the seal. The rubber grommet for the neck is hard tocome by new. I thought K-gap had them ?

it is clear that my car has had the tank out before and the triangle metal pieces are gone.

K-Gap only has them up to the 47 model year.

As far as the grommet around the neck, you might be able to adapt one from an another make, most likely GM, otherwise make one from rubber stock. Regarding the trunk floor, I simply fabricated a seal from rubber.

I used the upper grommet from KGAP that was listed for the earlier Hudsons. I have a 52 and their listing for the older version indicated it could be used on the stepdowns. It works just fine. The bottom "triangle" is just 3 straps used to provide support to whatever you can cover the hole with and then put a sealer over it all.
