Did all 1952-53 Hudson convertibles have power windows and top?

are all 1948 through 1953 convertible parts the same? like top bows, top latches, header piece, storage compartment area etc....?

were the top bows painted or chromed?

thanks!!!!!

On the top bows and linkage, above are photos of the originals in my '51.

My understanding is that the Pacemakers didn't come standard with the hydraulics (top and windows). That suggects the Super Series might not have either. It was definitely standard on Commodore and Hornet, but I recall seeing something indicating it was a "delete option" if you didn't want it.

    Walt, what's your recollection?

http://hetclub.org/burr/lithomepage.htm and clicking on "Manuals 1948-1954. Within is a 1948-54 Hudson Master Parts Catalog. Section HH is the section you want to go to.

From what I have learned, all stepdown convertible parts are the same and all had power tops. Commodore and Hornet had power windows standard, but could be ordered with manual windows if desired, Super and Pacemaker all had manual windows.

This is what the 1948-1954 Master Parts Catalog has to say:

    CvBro in models 481, 491, 500, 50A, 501, 4A, 5A, 5B, 5C,
5D has top with small rear window and painted fittings
    as standard equipment.

    CvBro in models 482, 484, 492, 494, 502, 504, 6A, 7A,
    8A, 6B, 78, 80, 7C, 7D has top with chrome fittings as
    standard equipment.

Unless otherwise qualified the parts listed in this
Group are for all 1948 thru 1954 CvBro.

  • The truth be told, Hudson made conv in all styles. With and without power, top or windows or chrome bows. I've seen 53 with no power and painted bows. Hudson was great for mixing up the parts and repair manuals. Walt.
