1939 Hudson "92" Convertible (Martz) car for sale

I have decided to not build my 1939 Custom. This Martz car is a one of a kind custom Hudson. Charles Martz wrote a short book on how to customize these cars and used a 1946 Hudson in the article published in the September 1952 Motor Trend article. It is expected that less than ten of these Martz Customs were built and only the one built by Barris Customs in known to be on the road today. I have a bunch of restored parts that I would sell with the car or part out. The car itself is $500.00. The parts amount to around $3,500 total.     If you could stay alive long enuff, BM, you're one of the few guys out there with the skill to do it right. Why not haul it to Perry's yard, cover it with a tarp and go all surreptitious on her? :woohoo:

    I wish that it was another car. The truth is that reality hit me when I sat down and figured out what I could do as a retired person on a fixed income. (I sold a car yesterday and I have two more to sell.)

    I decided that I can start experiencing life through travel and stuff or I can spend all my money on building cars that I might never get around to driving because another car that I cannot live without comes along.

    I decided to start enjoying the three cars that I have and spending time on the road attending Hudson meets, taking vacations and visiting with friends and enjoying their cars and such.

    Smart move Brownie, enjoy the one that you can drive like I do. I have the coupe which is our traveling car and a 4 door sedan which is our short trip car, both are 53 Hornets. Walt.

    Well thank you for that. I wouldn't mind at all to build the car and have some one else own it. As long as I got something for my time and effort.

    As for hauling it to my Mom and Dad's,....um' I think I'm at my limit with three over there now.:)

    There's something to be said for having 2-3 good cars that get all the attention they need and get driven as opposed to like 40 cars that all need something (or many things) and you never get around to them.

    One hobbyist once said to me, "This old car thing is a disease and the worst thing that can happen to a car guy is to have enough money and enough space for all that he wants...then nothing will stop the disease from spreading." LOL

    Thanks to all of you who sent me an email on the Martz car. Have a few considering the possibilities of building the car and you folks have a bit of a time to think about it. I am going to send in an add for the White Triangle News so that my friends that are not members of this FORUM might have a chance to consider this very rare custom car.

    After I go the WTN route, and a shot at eBay I plan to sell individual restored parts on eBay. If you know anyone that would like to take on this project or would like the History of the car, have them drop me an email.
