CARB HELP.
Car has been running great....today I had some difficulty starting it and it seemed to idle rough.. Took it on a quick trip around the neighborhood and parked it in the garage.
Tried to restart it and took for ever to catch..Popped the hood and noticed gas all over pouring out of the Carb...I didn't do anything to it and this just happened.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be very helpfull.

Check the float isn't sticking or the needle and seat is not stuck. Both will cause flooding. Maybe some dirt in the gas caused the needle and seat to stick.
Another cause can be too much fuel pressure.0 -
Unless you've recently changed the fuel pump, it's most likely the float valve was stuck, or the float has developed a crack and has sunk. Remove the float and shake it to see if there's fuel in it. If so, that's your problem. Drill a teeny hole in each end to let the gas out, then solder the crack and the two holes closed. While the carb is apart, remove the needle valve and examine it for wear or a speck of crud. Be sure you have a good fuel filter upstream of the fuel pump (and if you do but it's been there a while, replace it).0
