Fuel Pick Up Line in Gas Tank

Following up on my earlier question....

The line and flared end is made of a soft brass, correct?

This metal can be soldered, correct? Blue bottle gas or yellow bottle?

I was thinking about getting a brass tube from the local hardware store, flaring the using my pipe plare tool, inserting it into the flared end, solder that spot, then slip this extension into the main fuel pick up thus reinforcing the line and not losing much volume in the line right at the
flare.

The firm that de-scaled and sealed my tank broke the flare off right at the flare where the line becomes straight.

    To make life simpler, I probably have an extra pick up tube if you are interested. B)

    As a general rule you only wnt to use steel or stainless steel for fuel lines. There are a few valid reasons for this from chemical reactions to metal fatigue.
    You should also avoid compression type fittings as they can work loose,
