I agree, that is a beautiful '48! And I know you had to have a lot of people talking to you!

I also was at a show this weekend with my '46 pick-pu. I had a lot talking to me, but there was another Hudson there, a '41 Pick-up. Always great to get our cars out there to show the people that there are others besides the big three.

Yes many people stopped by to talk about the car as it brought back so many memories for them. The smile on some faces was great to see and I let some sit in the car. Many said seeing it made them think of the movie Driving Miss Daisy.
I was told by many how great the Hudson car was and they were happy to see one in the show.
It was a great experience sharing the car with all that stopped by and chatting it up with them.
On the way home with snow on the ground(dry roads) people looked at me like I had 2 heads lol

Here is a picture of the interior with the seat material as close to Factory as I could find.
  • Thats a really nice interior looks like pure class and luxury. Love riding around in the back seats of Hudsons so comfy.

It can be almost embarrasing, at shows- was at one where there was a '67 Chevelle that ended up being Best in Show on one side, and an equally nice '69 Z-28 Camaro on the other, and I had more people stop and want to jaw about my '48 than the other 2 combined.

Talked to the Chevelle guy, and he smiled and said he cringed when I pulled in next to him- "They'll look right past my car at yours- it happens all the time. Not a problem, I'm used to it."
  • I know what you are saying as people told me they liked seeing something different as the show had the usual amount of muscle cars.
I had the doors closed and was asked if I could open the doors so the people could see how Hudson had made such a spacious and elegant interior.I just could not believe the amount attention and the questions asked by all ages about the car. Many times parents would be walking along with their kids and we would hear,"there's Doc!" Thank goodness for animated movies and their bringing Hudson's back into the limelight.

Its a great idea to take your Hudson out to local car shows and tell the Hudson and HET stories. We all should be proactive in doing this to build interest in the HET cars and the HET Club.

You are correct there and people are interested in these cars. The style is the first thing they talk about.
Now that the weather is getting better get them out and about.
