54 Hornet parts

I advertised on a site that I was looking for some 1954 parts. Douglass Douglass in the USA has contacted me and is kindly breaking up his beautiful complete Hornet to sell me the rockers and floor pans for $200. When he gets my money, his mechanic will remove the parts. Here is a photo of 'his' car. It would be a crime to wreck a beautiful car for parts.Does anyone recognize the car? Another crime - recently a engineer on an oil rig wanted to buy my vintage Buick and pay me by Paypal. He paid me $1000 extra for the pick and transport costs, and wanted me to send the $1000 to the transport business head office in the UK. This was all to happen before Paypal would release the money to me.This smelt worse than a bucket of prawns in the sun.

I'm very wary of any overseas transactions. I've had one car I sold to Finland before that turned out fine. That country actually does have an active old car scene. Any legit buyer wouldn't mind not taking delivery until all funds cleared the bank and were declared to be good.
PayPal is getting greedy too but that's another story.
It would be sad if parts were coming off that car. Unfortunately some cars are worth more sold in piece than in total. It's not right as such cars cannot be replaced once pulled apart. They're not making any more.0 -
This ad has new floor pans, my buddie told me that to buy new that nos might not be very good.

Albright motors might have the rest of the parts you require, they are in the WTN:)0 -
To expand on what Ken said-
There is no Douglass Douglass. He does not own the car pictured. Nor does he own any other Hudson.
Its not really such a shame to "break up" a car like that, when you take into account that it isn't actually going to happen. NOBODY is going to part out a car that is easily worth $15,000 as shown.
The only part of the transaction that would happen (if you let it) is the part where you send him your 200 bucks. That money will disappear into the Nigerian economy, and your Mr. Douglass Douglass will disappear like dust in the wind.
Hints to Nigerian scammers: 1, If you're selling parts, show a parts car. 2, Try to come up with names that don't sound so ridiculous.
Now, let me get it straight on the other deal- He's paying by PayPal, but you have to send your 1000 someplace before you get the PayPal money? Again, the only part of this deal that might happen is you sending a grand off into never-never land. He's not paying by PayPal- in fact, he's not paying at all!
And finally- you need to put your money into something safe. Like real estate. Now, I've got a great piece of investment property in central Florida, the vacation capital of the U.S.. . .0 -
Wow Mike! I have always wanted to live in Florida. Could we work up a trade for my ocean front property in Arizona. Only kidding. Some years ago I had a car on eBay that would finally sell for just under 20K. I got an email from someone (place as mentioned in previous post)that offered me 50K for the car. He was going to send me the money (needed my bank information and such)via bank transfer and I was to send any extra money, after setting up the transportation, to a bank address that he provided. I got in contact with eBay scam folks and they told me that it seemed ok but asked me to wait a day so they could do some checking. I got a note from them the next day and they said nothing checked out so advised me not to go through with it. Must have been the start of the off-shore ebay rip offs....
I do want to mention that I have had great luck with eBay. And, generally speaking, old car folks will go the extra mile to be open and honest. Only been taken twice... And the one that chapped me the most was not getting my $1.99 Hudson watch from Hong Kong!!!!0
