A-Arm Covers......

Can someone out there post or email me a photo of a factory original or correctly installed repro A-Arm cover? I have my new ones from K-Gap and have installed them the way I THINK they should go on, but something is not right. It is kinda important that I get this sorted out as I cannot continue to assemble the front end until I am sure. I duplicated the factory staples and what not, which looks great. BUT, does the canavas drap over the frame rail or tuck between it and the inner fender? What about the brake lines and the battery box, do you notch out the canvas to go around it?

Any info would be appreciated....mine were not on the car, nor have a I ever viewed a stepdown with them installed so I am flying blind.

THANKS

    Hi Dennis,

I don't know if these will help since the covers on my 49 were original (I think) but pretty beat up - 1 pic from each side - these were the best I could find :(

    Dennis,

Glen Johnson from Utah has a NOS inner fender listed on ebay with a great picture.

Item number: 8018862918. I hope this will help you.

on my 53 Hornet they were as pictured stapled to the inner fender and between the frame rail.

  • Wow, thanks to all. The good news is that I stapled them on correctly. I still would like to verify if the rear portion of the canvas actually tucks between the inner fender and the rail, or does it drap over the rail.

    Thanks

I apologize Dennis for not getting back to you. The rear portion tucks between the inner fender and the rail.
