Well, this forum is a good place to start looking. Also, are you a member of the H-E-T Club yet? The newsletter has a lot of ads, and the names of a lot of vendors who might help you. (Your worldwide membership roster can help you find others with a '30 Essex, who you then might contact to ask where they find parts.)
Another "top priority" possibility is a message on the AACA's forums (they have a Hudson, and a general, forum).
Hemmings.com is always a good place to look. And, you could always check Ebay on the chance that something might be at auction there. Another helpful buy / sell on-line source is Restored Classics. They have a page devoted to Essex, http://www.restored-classic.com/essex-parts/

If you are NOT a member of the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club, email me with your snail mail address and I will send you a complimentary copy of our award-winning magazine, the White Triangle News. The current issue includes part 2 of a technical article on marvel carbs.

If you need any other information on your 1930 Essex there are several manuals and other info at the online library website @:

This site is a compliment to the HET club library maintained by John O'Hallaron.

I don't have a complete carb-just a few parts. Found a pretty complete one at one of the club's swap meets a few years ago and was able to put together a very good one.
As was stated earlier, join the club - a number of experts that are happy to help. I could not have finished my car without the good people in the HET Club.0 -

John,
The epoxy I used on my float is called 'Kwik-Poly'. The kit runs about $34 and can be purchased through Restoration Supply Company. They are located in Escondido, California. Phone # 800-306-7008. Their website is www.RestorationStuff.com
Good Luck- this process worked well on my cork float and I have had no problems with the float since.0 -
you could go onto this site an off shoot of this forum as a lot people go between the 2 as its all the really early cars like ours
