Thank you Lewis. I'm pretty sure he will want the SUPPER EIGHT plate. My computor crashed last week and just got back on line last night and saw your response to my request. I sent him your message including your email address this morning. When he contacts me I'll let you know. By the way what side is it?

Have a great day and thanks again for your help.

  • Hello, The SUPER EIGHT nameplates are the same, either side..I have one in my showcase, in like new condition, I would sell for $50, if he would be interested, also have a SUPER EIGHT plastic name plate for the dash.good condition for $35. These S8 things fo 46 and 47 are prety hard to come by. I have had these for 35 years or more.

    Lewis and cargray,

You have made Dave a happy camper. He wants the parts.

Lewis, Dave said he will contact you.

Cargray, let me know how you want to be contacted and I will pass it along to Dave.

I believe the only two things left on his wish list is the emblem for the radio delete plate and a set of 6 cyl front suspension coil springs.

    Thanks guys

  • Thanks Lee, Dave can call me 806 883 5411.....I think I have the delete emblem also. I have a pair of NOS springs #162531..book says they are for "46-47 pickup and business cars". I cant see why they wouldnt work on any 6 cyl. what do you think?

I have passed along your phone number to Dave. I'm sure he wants the delete emblem also.

The springs you mentioned will fit but they are what he already has in his truck. I should have said he wants 6 cly coupe/sedan springs. His truck sets higher than he likes. The coupe/sedan spring P/N 162530, with the reduced load and spring rate, will lower the truck to a level he is hoping for.

Anyone have an old set of springs they are willing to part with? By the way I too would like a set of 6 cly coupe/sedan springs for my truck.

    Thanks for your help.

Pity you guys are so far away as I have three sets of 162530 NOS springs that have been sitting on my shelves for years, I'm keeping one set for myself in case I ever need them, the others will end up going to the scrap metal dealer and possibly come back as parts to suit a Mazda or some such car.
  • Thanks for helping Dave out, Talked to him today and he seemed like a nice fellow. I suggested to him to try his stock springs in the PU, if he puts the 8 cyl. in it the extra weight should set it down about right. I also had several other NOS parts for the PU, so thanks for getting us together. RD

You are welcome RD. I've enjoyed helping Dave out. Your right, he is a very nice fellow. You and others have been the best help providing the needed parts. To you all, I give a big thank you, and that encludes those contacted who did not have the parts but helped with providing names of those who do.

    Have a great day
